Behind the Threads: New Year, New Chapters ✨

A new year always feels like a mix of excitement, reflection, and a tiny bit of chaos—and honestly, that perfectly sums up life behind the scenes at Jess Lynn Creations.

As we step into this new chapter, I wanted to take a moment to slow down and share what’s been happening, what’s changing, and what I’m most excited about moving forward.

A Fresh Start (With a Little Mess)

The start of a new year doesn’t mean everything suddenly becomes calm and organized. In reality, it often looks like juggling family schedules, unfinished projects, big ideas scribbled on random pieces of paper, and a to‑do list that somehow keeps growing instead of shrinking.

But that’s also where the magic happens.

Jess Lynn Creations was built during busy seasons, late nights, and moments where I had no idea what the next step would be—only that I wasn’t done yet. This year is no different, except now I’m stepping into it with more confidence, more clarity, and a stronger vision than ever.

Growth Looks Different Than It Used To

For a long time, growth meant doing more.

More products. More orders. More late nights.

Now, growth is being more intentional—choosing projects that align with my values, my time, and the community that supports this business so fiercely. It means refining what I offer, improving the experience for customers, and making space for things that truly matter (both in business and at home).

What’s Ahead ✨

This year brings some exciting changes:

  • New creative directions and products
  • A deeper focus on quality and craftsmanship
  • More storytelling behind the work—not just what’s made, but why it’s made
  • And yes… new equipment and new skills that I can’t wait to share more about soon 👀

I’m also leaning into being more transparent here—sharing wins, lessons learned, and the not‑so‑glamorous parts of running a small business alongside the exciting ones.

 

A Real-Life Update From the Shop

It’s been a bit since I last wrote a post, so let’s catch up—because behind the scenes, it’s been a lot.

Last week, I discovered that someone figured out a way to place orders on my website for $0.00… including free shipping. Yep. 😑 That kicked off a fun little adventure of working with Shopify (and by working with, I mostly mean me fixing things).

The result? Every. Single. Listing. has to be checked and fixed individually. Not glamorous, not fast—but necessary. So if things look a little shuffled or quieter than usual, that’s why.

At the same time, it’s officially cookie season at my part-time job (can you guess where I work, LOL), which means things are picking up fast. That also means my Tuesdays off will probably be few and far between for a bit. Busy season is busy-ing.

And now for the exciting part—after a full month of waiting, my embroidery machine has FINALLY arrived from China 🎉🙌

It’s here, it’s real, and it’s sitting in my workspace waiting for setup, training, and a little learning curve. Once that’s done, I’ll be cranking out brand-new embroidered items that I’ve been dreaming about for a long time.

So yes—there’s been a little chaos, a lot of problem-solving, and some long days lately. But there’s also growth happening, new opportunities opening up, and a whole new chapter about to begin.
